Melissa Schaffer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience working in the mental health field. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood University. She is currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Melissa’s clinical experience includes work in an acute care psychiatric hospital and residential treatment settings. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families, through the provision of individual, group, and family therapy services. Her special interests include, depression, anger management, school difficulties, conflict resolution, behavior management, parenting skills, and the effects of trauma and abuse. Melissa also has over 7 years experience treating individuals with sexual issues, including, sexually reactive and offender type behaviors.
Melissa is dedicated to utilizing individual strengths throughout the treatment process and building strong support systems to help individuals realize their true potential.
