She has been a psychiatric nurse for over 20 years, received her Master's Degree in Nursing Education from Villanova University in 1993, and a Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University, in May of 2006. She has been certified in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing since 1988 and has worked in a variety of settings.</p> <p class="intro">Sandy has clinical experience working with the chronically mentally ill population, the addiction population and with clients with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as survivors of trauma. Her training has been eclectic, but includes training in medical (psychopharmacologic) therapy, individual, cognitive and group psychotherapy.</p> <p class="intro">Sandy is the immediate past-president of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association-PA Chapter and continues to be active in many aspects of the organization.
